What started out as a trip to Robert Moses with Clark, Cliff, Brad - just in from Atlanta - and Hot Brent, turned into a trip to Jones Beach (recognize it now, dontcha?). After overshooting the exit by about 20 miles - I have learned this: if you are headed for the beach and you see a big sign clearly marked OCEAN BEACHES, take it - I gave up forever (okay, not forever, we hit RM the following week) on finding the pristine beaches of my youth and took everyone to slum it at Jones. Poot didn't come. She is only allowed on Fire Island, and for that we have to take the ferry. Poot likes to swim and all, but frankly, at the beach she mostly does a lot of panting.
